Mendelson Co. supplied disconnectors (= Drehmo adapters, Powell gate valves) that were used in several combined cycles in power stations: Hagit, Ramat Hovav, Eshkol and others, as part of the aspiration project.
The aspiration system contains unique equipment that can withstand extremely harsh conditions. The aspiration process involves conveying very high pressure steam at very high temperatures (even extreme) prior to running the power station.
In view of the high temperature and extreme conditions, unique electric adapters with a separate head were used – with a 10m extension cable to isolate the human factor (during local operation) from proximity to hazardous areas.
Mendelson’s accompaniment included support, guidance, calibration and onsite trials of the above disconnectors until production began.
